April 21 – Big Bear ride

For April we have a long one-day ride planned to Big Bear by way of Valyermo and Rim of the World. This will be a very scenic ride with no freeway miles and lunch at the North Shore Café in Big Bear. Meet Sunday morning at the Shell gas station (bottom of Hwy 2 at the 210 Fwy) located at 4530 Angeles Crest Highway in La Canada, maps will be provided. Ride departs at 9AM sharp.

 

May 19 – Frazier Park

This is a great one-day ride through the beautiful region of Frazier Park. Meet at Big John’s Mountain Grill located at 3121 Mount Pinos Way in Frazier Park. Come early for breakfast, kick tires, etc. Ride departs at 10AM sharp.

 

June 14-16 – Morro Bay / Cayucos Weekend

We will return to the streets of Morro Bay as our starting point for a fun weekend of inland and coastal routes. Arrive on Friday evening for the usual shenanigans.  Saturday will be a 250+ mile loop returning to Morro Bay.  Club headquarters will be the Coastal Breeze and the Morro Bay Beach Inn. There is plenty of additional good lodging in the area, feel free to stay where you like.

Saturday morning’s meet location is Carla’s Country Kitchen located at 213 Beach Street, Morro Bay, CA 93442, route maps will be provided. Ride departs promptly at 8:30, however, come by early for breakfast, they open at 6:30.

 

July 13 – Prince of Darkness Night Ride

Charge up the batteries, you’ll need ‘em…this is our annual “night ride” over the Mulholland Hills to Bob’s Big Boy in Toluca Lake for a bite to eat. Meet at the Los Feliz Café located at 3207 Los Feliz Boulevard in Los Angeles. Ride departs at 8PM sharp.

 

August 23-25 – High Sierra Weekend

Come join the fun as we explore mountain roads from Mariposa to South Lake Tahoe!

Saturday morning August 24th we will ride from our usual haunt, the Yosemite Miners Inn, to South Lake Tahoe by way of Angels Camp and Highway 88.  Later that day we will stay at Beverly Lodge. On Sunday the 25th we ride back to Mariposa by way of Markleeville and Highway 4, over Ebbetts Pass. Rides depart at 9AM both days.

 

September 21 – Night Ride to Chilao School

Join the Norton club as we brave the darkness of Hwy 2 and risk our lives…all for some free food! Crazy you say? Meet at the Shell station located at Hwy 2 & 210 Fwy for a exciting twilight ride up the hill where we will have a dinner spread waiting for us at the Chilao School (just past the Maintenance Station, 2 miles south of Newcomb’s Ranch) provided by the wonderful and extremely gracious host, Carina Roberts.  We’ll head down around 9PM or so assisted by a nice full moon.  Ride departs the Shell Station at 6:30PM sharp.

 

October 13 – Mt. Baldy Run

Enjoy an early fall ride to Mt Baldy, lunch stop at the Mt. Baldy Lodge. Meet at Buchanan’s Spoke & Rim located at 805 W 8th Street in Azusa, 91702. Ride departs at 10:00AM sharp.

 

November 3 – 45th Annual Hansen Dam Rally

Get those beautiful bikes ready and attend the largest Classic Motorcycle event of the year in Southern California!

Our Hansen Dam event will once again feature a peoples’ choice judged motorcycle show this year. Those that want to participate will get a numbered hang tag for their bike with “year/make/model” written on it.
All spectators will be offered a judging ballot & a pen.  Ballots can be turned in at our club awning.  At 9:30 am we will start tallying them up, and at 10:00 we’ll have an awards ceremony.

We will have trophies for the following classes:

Best British – 1950’S
Best British – 1960’S
Best British – 1970’S
Best Modern British
Best British Custom
Oldest British Bike
Best Non-British Bike
Best British in Show
Best Norton in Show

PS – Don’t forget that we will have breakfast burritos available in addition to our usual coffee & donuts!

Meet at the lower lot of Hansen Dam on Dronfield (off Osborne). Spectators on British Iron will receive a free Hansen Dam pin!

 

December 31 – New Year’s Eve Run for the Roses 

Our final ride of the year…always fun! Meet at Lucky Baldwin’s Trappiste located at 1770 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. We’ll ride up to Chilao School if weather permits (just past the Maintenance Station, entrance on the left, a few miles south of Newcomb’s Ranch) courtesy of the Norton Club and our incredible and extremely gracious host, Corina Roberts.  Ride Maps will be handed out prior to departure.

The Norton club has never cancelled a ride due to a weather FORECAST. If, however, at the scheduled time of departure the folks who do show up for breakfast decide not to ride due to rain, snow or…, then the ride may be re-scheduled, most likely for the following week.
